Single crust
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 stick of butter, cut into pieces
1/4 cup cold vegetable shortening, cut into pieces
1/4 cup cold water
Double crust
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 stick butter, cut into pieces
1/2 cold vegetable shortening, cut into pieces
1/2 cup cold water
Put the flour, sugar and slat in a food processor. Pulse a few times then add the butter. Pulse. Add the shortening and pulse. Drizzle half of the water then pulse and add the rest of the water. Knead the dough into two balls and flatten into disks. Refrigerate for at least an hour.
